Great for teaching Singapore Math, even if you are new to teaching math and learned math differently yourself

I taught Singapore Math 1A and 1B using the Home Instructor's Guide. Out of curiosity, I purchased this Teacher's Guide to teach 2A (although I am homeschooling). There doesn't seem to be an enormous difference, in my opinion, between the two, except that someone has taken the Teacher's Guide and "translated" it for Home Instructors for the Home Instructor's Guide. Either way, what you are getting is a guide containing step-by-step instructions for teaching Singapore Math, regardless of whether you are a teacher or parent, and even if you learned math using a different method yourself. (I know I did.)
The Teacher's Guide for 2A contains a suggestion for how many days to spend on each lesson; each chapter comes with an introduction summing up what you will cover in the subsequent lessons. There are very few required manipulatives, and most you could make yourself in a pinch. Going from concrete to pictorial to abstract is at the heart of Singapore Math, so this guide helps you plan the concrete lessons and gives corresponding practice pages in the textbook (pictorial) and workbook (abstract), and also suggested pages for Extra Practice (in the book published by Singapore Math) and Tests (which begin at this level).
Chapter 1 is review and comes quite easily to students who haven't been away from Singapore Math 1B for long. The rest of the chapters in the first unit cover numbers to 1000. In addition to adding and subtracting with and without renaming, this book covers measurement in meters and centimeters, yards and feet and inches, multiplication tables of 2 and 3, and dividing by 2 and 3. I am looking at it and thinking none of the concepts will present a challenge to a student who has completed Singapore Math 1B, and it would be fine for any student who has a firm grounding in place value and a strong conceptual understanding of using "making a ten" or other good strategies for solving addition and subtraction problems.
