About the Author
After purchasing his first Tarot deck in 1973, Mark McElroy began terrorizing other neighborhood nine-year-olds with dire and dramatic predictions.Today, he calls Tarot "the ultimate visual brainstorming tool," and shares techniques designed to help others ask better questions, see more options, and achieve their goals.
He is the author of Putting the Tarot to Work, Taking the Tarot to Heart, What's in the Cards for You?, and the new I Ching for Beginners (all Llewellyn). He is also the author of The Absolute Beginner's Guide to Tarot (Que).
Mark holds a B.A. and M.A. in creative writing and composition from the Center for Writers at the University of Southern Mississippi. He has more than two decades of experience as a public speaker and corporate trainer. He has written, produced, and hosted classroom, video, and online training for some of America's biggest companies, including SkyTel, MCI, Office Depot, Staples, and many others. Mark lives and writes in Mississippi, where he shares a home with his partner, Clyde, and two cats, Tiger and Lilly.

I find these cards very soothing ...

I read the other review of these cards and I have to disagree. I'm Irish and a practicing Druid and when I hold these cards I feel the fae dancing all around me. The box they come in is of very high quality, with a flap that snaps shut when you close it. The book that came with mine is 158 pages and is in English only. At the beginning, each card has the creator's commentary, then important symbols, interpreting the card, and finally questions to ask. I have found the information to be very helpful in leading me to use my own intuition when using these cards.
Some of the cards are very dark in color which can make finding the clues to the meaning a little harder to find. The card stock is not what I would expect for a more expensive deck. But this is truly my favorite deck and when they get too worn to use I will purchase another deck.
I have done several readings for friends and family and everyone is so surprised at how accurate the reading is. Most now ask me to use this deck to do their reading. I wouldn't recommend this deck for a beginner but you don't need to be an expert at reading them either.

The "Tarot of the Celtic Fairies" will help you draw her out into the open. Meditating on the mythological symbolism in these brilliant illustrations will teach you to make contact with this extraordinary cast of magical characters. Each fairy is introduced to the viewer via the animated portrayal in its card. The Celtic entities dance, fly, summon, threaten, bestow blessings, and reek havoc as they lead us through the tarot deck and into their hidden, enchanted world.
Following the traditional 78-card Rider-Waite format, the exoteric and esoteric meaning of each card is enhanced as its fairy acts out its meaning. The high energy of the cards render them useful for spellwork, as well as standard divination. Open the door to this special world if you dare. The fairies are waiting for you.

I really enjoy the images on theses cards. The deck felt good to me immediately. It is now one of my favorites.
