Stephen Hoover Hits it Out of the Park Again!

What's So Funny? compresses a semester long class in comedy and places it in a concise, interesting format. The layers of pretentious academia are stripped away and all the bases on the subject of comedy are covered. I used this in addition to my required textbooks while taking a course in film comedy and it helped me to understand the various theories of comedy. I would recommend this book for both the serious scholar and casual reader.

What's so funny? Not that book.
I only read the beginning of the book, because I found it boring.
It could contain helpful information, but it never really grasped my attention.
